Book Depository: phase 1

Some are into shopping clothes, others to shoes, while for me? It's shopping for books.

Every once in awhile, I'll have the sudden urge to buy a book. Yah know, like Rebecca Bloomwood but in her early stages of being a Shopaholic. Due to my innate skill of procrastination, I always end up looking at a list of "MUST READ BOOKS." Most of them are available locally, but sometimes they aren't.

I once asked Mica (my friend Dang's sister) to buy me Don DeLillo's Cosmopolis [I was in the middle of my Robert Pattinson fangirling back then] from Kinokuniya, Singapore. Huy, don't judge me. The store was just across from the place she's staying.

Almost everytime, I will check Kinokuniya's website to see if a book is available there. Wala lang, just in case lang that I will have the guts to ask my cousins to ship me some books home. Up to this point, however, it never happened.

One random night, papa and I were wide awake watching Hitchcock. I really thought I was going to see Will Smith. Kaso, his movie pala was HANCOCK not HITCHCOCK! Legit, I thought it was the same thing. Anywho, papa new Hitchcock because of his movies, so I watched the movie nalang.

Hitchcock is a semi-biography-documentation of Alfred Hitchcock's making of Psycho. Aha! There. I was so intrigued by the man. Of course, it was kudos to Anthony Hopkin's portrayal that made me finished watching the whole thing.

Psycho by Robert Bloch. Despite my self-acclaim love for horror-psychological thriller-suspense genre of movies, I haven't watched the darn thing. Since I'm a book collector why not read the book first then torture myself more by watching the movie.

To my disappointment, the book was nowhere to be found (in the local bookstores). I asked Kim (not friend), to give me a copy as a birthday gift. Hehe, of course I knew she'll be having a hard time that until the other day, she haven't found luck. I later told her that she could give me another gift instead, birthmonth abuse I want everything! Brat!

I was becoming desperate (as always), so I looked for other ways of getting a copy of the book. The easiest way, obviously, is to just have an e-book. But since I'm not really a fan of e-books, I decided not to give up on my book search. "Book bloggers" from the Philippines have tried buying books online and one site they recommended is - Book Depository.

Hesitating about the possible threats buying online poses, I still continued. HAHAHA. Kala niyo maglelet go na ko? No!

As of the moment, I already placed an order and is now waiting for my order to be dispatched.
