NEW BOOK ACQUISITIONS [april 10 2012]

'twas just yesterday when I gave a shot to visit RP-MANILA's National Bookstore to find out if they still have THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY only to find out that they're already out of stock and that they are not accepting reservation. Mama promised me that she'll buy me the set (for I don't know what has gotten into her). So when we got home, I tried calling SM MANILA, SM SAN LAZARO, MALABON CITY SQUARE, SM MALL OF ASIA branches of National Bookstore and to my luck - none of them has stock.

So I posted on Abigail's wall and told her about my luck about finding the trilogy. Minutes later she said that there's still a copy left at NATIONAL BOOKSTORE SUPERBRANCH, CUBAO. And bam! After calling I have reserved a copy of the trilogy. So I asked up to when is the reservation valid and the lady on the other line said that it's only up for 3 days and to my terror I said I'll get it tomorrow!

PLANS CANCELLED - - so I had more time in going to Cubao just to get the book. I could have just requested it to be delivered into a much more nearer branch, but since I don't want to lose the opportunity of going out that idea didn't cross on my mind.

LONG STORY SHORT I am now a proud owner of THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY. (yeah, here am i going with the flow trying to be "in" with the crowd! LOL!)

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Other than The Hunger Games, I've finally bought a copy of Lauren Oliver's Before I Fall. I've been eyeing this book for almost 2 weeks already. I've been receiving newsletter from National Bookstore and Powerbooks, and apparently this Lauren Oliver has visited the Philippines and she's going to have a book signing with her new book (her book's also a trilogy). But this Before I fall according to what is written at the back is about a girl who's perfect and is able to die in a different way for 7 times. HAHA!

One Day by David Nicholls

And I've also bought a copy of One Day by David Nicholls. I know this has already been shown in theaters last year, but it was just last night that I have seen the movie's poster closely and realized that the lead actors of the film is Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess (of 21), and after reading the plot of the book it hit me that I just gotta have a copy of that book. :))

The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

And lastly, since Nicholas Sparks's The Lucky One will be showing on theaters on April 19, I thought of reading it before watching the movie. Already made plans with AteJoy on Thursday and luckily The Lucky One will also be showing that day. Awesome! :) Oh yah, normally I prefer buying books of their original cover rather than buying the new cover of the book which is the movie's poster; I made again another exemption in buying out this copy since it has the hot Zac Efron on the cover. ;)

So right now my real hobby is BOOK COLLECTING.
